Terms of service

1. What Amathlon is

Amathlon is a platform for finding and booking sports venues, finding people to play with, recording match results, and finding coaches. We provide the platform. We do not own or operate the venues, we do not employ the coaches, and we do not take part in the games.

2. Your account

You need an account to use most of Amathlon. You must be old enough to hold one under the law where you live, and at least 13. Give accurate information when you register, keep your password to yourself, and tell us if you think someone else has got into your account. You are responsible for what happens under your account.

You can sign out of all your devices at any time, and you can ask us to delete your account.

3. Bookings are between you and the venue

When you book a court, the agreement is between you and that venue. Amathlon passes the booking on and shows you the venue's rules; it is not a party to the booking. The venue sets its own opening hours, prices, slot lengths, notice periods and cancellation cutoffs, and those apply to you when you book.

Venues may confirm bookings automatically or review them first. A request is not a confirmed booking until the venue accepts it.

4. Payment

Amathlon does not process payments. You pay the venue, or the coach, directly. We do not collect card or bank details, we do not hold your money, and we do not issue refunds — refunds and cancellation charges are between you and whoever you paid.

Amathlon itself is free to use.

5. Turning up

Venues can mark a booking as a no-show. No-shows contribute to a reliability indicator on your profile that other venues on Amathlon can see when you book with them. If you think you were marked unfairly, contact us and we will look at it.

6. Match results

A match result only counts once the other player confirms it. Do not log results that did not happen, and do not arrange results to move your rating. If a result is disputed we may re-check it, and we may reverse results, ratings, or achievements that were obtained dishonestly.

7. Coaching

Coaches on Amathlon are independent — they are not our employees or agents, and the lesson is an agreement between you and the coach. We review coach profiles before they appear, but we do not certify anyone's qualifications, insurance or safety practices, and you should satisfy yourself about those.

Where a coach shows a results score, it is a statistical estimate calculated from verified match results, presented as an indicator rather than a guarantee. It does not promise that you will improve.

8. Your content

You keep ownership of the photos, messages, reviews and other content you put on Amathlon. You give us permission to store and display it so the app can work — showing your photo on your profile, your review on a coach's page, your message in a squad chat.

Only upload content you have the right to upload. We can remove content that breaks these terms or the law.

9. Behaviour

Do not use Amathlon to:

• harass, threaten, impersonate or abuse anyone;
• post content that is illegal, hateful, or sexually explicit;
• falsify results, reviews, or reliability records;
• scrape, disassemble, overload or attack the service;
• get into anyone else's account, or any part of the system you are not meant to reach;
• use the platform for anything unlawful.

Playing sport carries risk of injury. That risk is yours, and it is between you, the other players and the venue.

10. Suspension and ending your account

You can stop using Amathlon and delete your account whenever you like. We can suspend or close an account that breaks these terms, or where we are required to. Where it is reasonable to do so, we will tell you why.

11. Availability and liability

Amathlon is provided as it is. We work to keep it running and accurate, but we do not promise it will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that any rating, score or listing is complete or correct.

To the extent the law allows, we are not liable for what happens between you and a venue, a coach, or another player; for injuries; for a booking that is not honoured; or for indirect or consequential loss. Nothing here limits liability that cannot legally be limited — including for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.

12. Changes

We may update these terms. If a change is significant we will give notice in the app or by email before it takes effect. Carrying on using Amathlon after that means the updated terms apply to you.
